Trought her parents she embraced Fado and Folklore, wich explains her sensibility to portuguese tradicional music. Inspite her 27 years of age she participated on Portuguese Song Contest in 2001 and in several music projects as a guest. Fado appears from a fusion between emotion and reason, this is, life, that mistery that happens naturally only by listenning and feeling. Dâna belongs to the new generation of portuguese music, songwriter and poet that loves her roots. This new album reflects Dâna’s self growing. “Sei Finalmente” is the expression of a “fadista” (fado singer) in evolution that with her voice gives life to poems. Throught fado we are taken on a journey that leads us to the typical streets of old lisbon neighbourhoods and thought the sentiment and emotion on Dâna’s voice we are fluded by the colours, perfumes and the tradicional roots and that major essence of the portuguese musical expression called FADO. With arrangements by João Chitas, production by Dâna and Vasco Lima, this project represents in a very peculiar way the emotion from the fusion between voice and guitars as one unique element of nature. The repertoire was chosen from the deep admiraton for the portuguese word, from the popular poets to the most ancient ones. Some of the fados on this album for being so ancient are so rarely sung which makes of it a rare piece of art full of originality that reaches its most with Dâna’s own interpretation. “Sei Finalmente” it’s not just a fado album but a breath-taking experience in which Dâna’s voice conquers us at the guitar’s 1st chord leaving us wanting for more even after the last chord is played by the very wisdom of the musicians that take this young promess of Fado along the 11 songs of the album - “Sei Finalmente”. |
