Fado Singers -

Belonged to the fixed cast of several fado restaurants in Lisbon, such as; São Caetano, Velho Páteo de Santana, Taverna do Embuçado, Grand Tasca and Museu do Fado. Currently he sings every week in one of the most prestigious fado venues; the “Clube de Fado” in the typical neighbourhood of Alfama in Lisbon. He is a “fadista” with a vast performing curriculum, with shows throughout Portugal, as well as abroad. Having already performed in Macau, Germany, Spain, Brasil and Algeria, among other countries. António Vasco was invited to be a part of the show “Fados”, a creation of the well known theater director Ricardo Pais. This show was integrated in Lisboa`94 – European Cultural Capital. In January of 2003 he gets his first role as an actor/singer in La Féria’s long lasting musical “Amália”. With it he had the chance to act/sing in Lisbon´s most famous show venue; Coliseu dos Recreios and also in several cities in France and Switzerland in a 2 week tour. In 2004 he was one of the protagonists of Tiago Torres da Silva’s musical show called “Casa de Fado”, in which he appeared along with Ana Sofia Varela, Pilar Homem de Melo and Maria João Quadros in the Villaret theatre (Lisbon). For the past 18 years, António shared the stage with many of the most famous fado singers like Carlos Zel, Maria da Fé, Tereza Tarouca, Vicente and José da Câmara, João Ferreira Rosa, Maria da Nazaré, Mafalda Arnauth and Camané. To name but a few. His debut solo album is due to be launched very soon this year.
