"Fado em mim", published by the Dutch record label World Connection, made known to the public in 2002 a singer that quickly occupied the limelight in the international market of world music. The album earned the German Critics Prize and the European Border Breaker Award, which she received in the 2004 at the MIDEM ceremony in Cannes (France), having sold over 100,000 copies.
The album was released in April 2002 and fast became popular by themes like "Chuva", by Jorge Fernando (producer) and "Ó gente da minha terra" with lyrics by Amalia Rodrigues and music by Tiago Machado.
