Cristina Nóbrega
Singers - Last Updated Fevereiro 16, 2018
Cristina Nóbrega is from Lisbon. She sings ever since, on a lonely journey that passes through various musical genres.
Eternally linked to music, only at the beginning of 2008 did Fado, the discovery and passion of youth, reappear and make her assume before herself that she needed to sing. After all, it is in this musical genre that she finds the deepest form of expression and the magic of singing in Portuguese.
In less than a year she records and presents a model to a publisher that gives rise to the edition of her first work (Sep / 2008), an album “Amaliano” with the fado classics. It opens in Madrid on September 14, 2008 at “Noite Branca”, at the invitation of Círculo de Bellas Artes. In May 2009, the Amália Rodrigues Foundation awarded her the “2009 Revelation Artist Award”.
Along this route, she presented her voice on various stages, in Portugal and abroad, with remarkable success.
With a need to sing her own songs, she got to know musicians and poets over the past two years, who gave her poems and original compositions and others that she selected, and that are part of her new album “Retratos”, Sony Music edition.
She met the talented composer and producer Luís Pedro Fonseca who gave her some original compositions besides the previously chosen poems that had been musicized by Fontes Rocha, Carlos Gonçalves, Mário Pacheco and Zé Manuel Martins.
The poets sung in the album “Retratos” are Miguel Torga, Fernando Pessoa, Florbela Espanca, Cabral do Nascimento, Vasco Graça Moura, António Gedeão, António Aleixo, José Fanha, Luís Pedro Fonseca, Augusto Gil, Fernando Vieira and Reinaldo Ferreira.
In the studio, Cristina Nóbrega had the privilege of being accompanied by José Manuel Neto on the Portuguese guitar, in the Fado guitar de Fado by Rogério Ferreira and Pedro Festa on the contrabass.
There are 16 unpublished themes that Cristina Nóbrega offers to lovers of Fado and the fadista soul.
In 2014, at Largo de São Carlos, in Lisbon, she did a concert that, in 2015, was published on disk, entitled "Cristina Nóbrega ao Vivo no Chiado".
