of over a year by the singer from Lisbon and the band fromd Oporto.Those who have followed her career know that Mafalda Arnauth never saw the Fado as a comfort zone. On the contrary, always accepted new challenges, such as this album with Atlantihda.
And the invitation to Mafalda to integrate Atlantihda was made by the disc producer - Frederico Pereira - who thought needed a voice to tell and sing stories written in poetry by Possidónio Cachapa, the lyricist (from Alentejo) who Mafalda Arnauth gives voice.
Songs that summon Fado, yes, but also call for other portuguese traditional music and other parts of the world, in addition to contemporary classical music and, above all, a world music. Songs where the life subjects are always present - the urgency to love, the inevitabilities of transmitting current political messages - and which enroll immediately in the new portuguese music roots.
